3 wellness tips for your breakfast

Researchers have shown that apple extracts added to cultures of colon and lung cancer cells slow down the growth of cancer cells, but unpeeled apple extracts have the strongest effect. “Researchers believe that the large amount of antioxidant substances contained in an apple could explain why eating five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day offers some protection against cancer,” according to Passeport Santé.
It is not so difficult to eat healthy. You just have to listen to your body. What are your habits? What are your physiological needs, what time do you start your day? At what time do you take your meals?
Everyone adapts their answer to their constraints and needs, but a nutritionist will say at least that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that neglecting it is like subjecting your body to constraints, even suffering.
Our purpose here is not to advise you to eliminate your occasional pleasures. Indulge yourself, especially when you are on a hotel trip.
Here are 3 suggested tips for your daily breakfast.

Salty, sweet, both?


The Relais des Halles salmon is not an industrial product. It is therefore not as rich in fat. Enjoy it!

Asians and Anglo-Saxons know it; why should we exclude from our breakfast any salty food when the body needs it to start the day? Like sugars, fats are also better assimilated at breakfast. Bacon eggs, scrambled eggs, cold cuts and cheeses are therefore best eaten in the morning.
If you are having breakfast in a hotel and this is not your habit, take advantage of the service to eat differently and listen to your body at this point.

Juice or cut fruit?

We will leave aside the industrial fruit juice without pulp, loaded with preservatives and whose fiber content is much lower. No nutrients or antioxidants for a beautiful skin. Is it good to drink? Is it good for your body?
Fruit salads are unquestionably healthier for the body, not only because they are richer in vitamins, but also because they are more digestible. Chewing solid food is the first step in digestion. On the other hand, if you have a weak stomach or have traveled for a long time, do not torture your body any further.
Drinking a glass of fruit juice probably leads to exceeding the amount of sugar your body needs. How many squeezed oranges does it take to make one glass and is it all reasonable? “Drinking fruit juice contributes to transforming slowly absorbed sugars into fast sugars. It should really be avoided,” says Professor Jean-Jacques Altman, endocrinologist and head of the diabetes department at the Georges Pompidou European Hospital.
“Researcher Wojcicki of the University of California’s Department of Pediatrics calls on the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ban 100% fruit juice from the Child and Adult Food Care Program and replace it with fresh fruit. Swallowing calories in liquid form is not the same in terms of the food matrix and micronutrients as swallowing calories in solid form.”

Viennese pastries, bread or cereals?

It is usually preferable to eat bread, rusks or cereals for breakfast rather than high-fat pastries; a croissant contains 10 grams of fat. Don’t forget the butter that will be spread on the bread.
As with the glass of freshly squeezed oranges, no treat should be ruled out if it is occasional, especially if you are traveling, but a bowl of muesli or unrefined cereal will always be better for your body than pastries.
